Gynostemma tea is sometimes described as being better than ginseng. It comes from roots of several different medicinal herbal plants from the southern part of China. It has a "wood" flavor and is naturally sweet. It is sold in China as "seven leafs ginseng". It is used for general good health and longevity, and recently has been shown to lower cholesterol and help keep arteries clear. To use as medicine, drink two cups daily. The tea is in bags, be sure to "dunk" the bags so all of the medicinal qualities will be release when you pour boiled water on the tea and steep for five minutes.
