Chinese Disabled and Handicapped Orphans I met Mr. Ma several years ago when I began purchasing jade from China. We have become friends, and learned much about each other's cultures. I told him about how some Americans adopt Chinese babies, even though it is an expensive, time consuming and stressful endeavor. Americans have a long history of helping the less fortunate. Christian religions practice the "tithe", giving a percentage of income back to the community for good works. Other developed countries also reach out to assist those in need. And throughout the world, Guan Yin has been known as the Buddha of Compassion, Way of Mercy. I have accepted donations from readers and customers who want to give to these orphans. | ||||||||||

UPDATE: July, 2005 I visited the orphanage and made a generous donation. Thanks to all of you who contributed to this. You can read about my visit to the orphanage here On my May, 2006 trip to China, we stayed at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou and met many parents and families who were adopting Chinese children. You can read about our trip by clicking here. Donations are given to the orphanage on my annual trips to China. Update: I am not taking new donations at this time. The next time I take donations will be when I am going to visit the orphanage, so if you would like to donate, check back later for updated information
